Nurcan Yılmaz Supported by Türk Telekom Among the Best Seven

Nurcan Yılmaz from Erzurum Türk Telekom Sports Club has taken her place among the best seven of the world in 63 kg category at Judo World Cup organized in Egypt. Nurcan, who is one of the young sportswomen supported by Türk Telekom within the context of the “Türkiye’ye Değer” campaign became a source of pride for us with her success in the national team.

The sportsmen trained at Türk Telekom, the leading company of communication and convergence technologies in Turkey, add more to successes they have achieved until now. Once again, Nurcan Yılmaz who is one of the sportswomen from Erzurum Türk Telekom Sports Club has successfully represented Turkey at Judo World Cup organized in Egypt. Taking place in the national team, she has taken her place among the top seven in judo in the 63 kg category. There were a total 223 sportsmen (81 sportswomen and 142 sportsman) participating into the World-cup competition coming from 8 countries.

Yılmaz: “Support is the most important factor in our achievements”

Stating that the support they have received at Türk Telekom Sports Club undertakes an important role in their success, Nurcan Yılmaz said the following:

“I participated the Judo World Cup organized in Egypt to represent my country with success. The seventh rank I have achieved among sportsmen of more than 200 carries a high level of importance for our country. We have achieved this success thanks to the opportunities and the support we had at Türk Telekom Sports Club and we are targeting bigger successes anymore. I will continue my efforts in an intensive manner together with my trainers.”

Türk Telekom Sports Clubs have trained young sportsmen and sportswomen of around 28 thousands in 22 sports branches

Adding values to the lives of its customers with products and services it has developed, Türk Telekom is making contributions to the development of sports in our country and provides training opportunities to young and skilled sportsmen under the framework brand “Türkiye’ye Değer” with its 5,438 sportsmen and 41 sports clubs throughout the country.

Believing that sports activities have a big influence on the development of communication skills in young people, Türk Telekom have provided the training of 28 thousand young sportsmen in 22 sports branches from basketball to fencing, skiing and tennis in 41 provinces within a period of a decade. Sportsmen trained in Türk Telekom Sports Schools providing sports training in 22 different branches have achieved many degrees in more than 10 branches in national and international competitions and been invited many times to the national teams in their fields. Sportsmen of Türk Telekom Sports Clubs have been successful in 30 national and 5 international championships in 10 branches within the year 2009. More than 20 sportsmen active in Türk Telekom Sports Clubs will represent Turkey in 6 branches (fencing, athletics, judo, taekwondo, wrestling and wushu) in about 20 international competitions throughout the year 2010.

In 2010, Hakan Çeçen of Erzurum Türk Telekom Sports Club put his signature under a big success becoming the second in the European Clubs Cross-Country Championship. Emrullah Gül of Sıvas Türk Telekomspor became the third in the 13th European Wu-Shu Championship organized in Antalya while Furkan Şener of the same club became the runner-up in the same championship, making Turkey proud of their successes. Aybüke Öztürkmen, a fencer of Trabzon Türk Telekom Sports Club, on the other hand, reached an important level of success becoming the champion in the 7th International Fencing Children’s Cup in the Young Girls Epee category.
