Brand New Age In Internet Türk Telekom Starts Up “Internet to Every Home” Period

Türk Telekom is starting up daily Internet use in homes with “Internet to Every Home” application. With the new package to be offered with the sales price provided as 3 TL daily for all Internet service providers, users will be able to connect to Internet any day, and pay for day that they are connected.
Türk Telekom, the leading communication and convergence technologies company in Turkey will increase Internet use in homes and introduce Internet to everyone. It introduced the “Internet to Every Home” package through the press conference held. With the new package Internet service providers will be able to offer Internet service to their customers against the retail sales price provided as 3 TL per day including all taxes. Türk Telekom will provide Internet to Every Home package to Internet service providers by wholesale, and to customers through them.
Customers currently using ADSL will be able to benefit from the new application along with those who do not have Internet connection in their homes yet. Under the package that can be used from 03.00 a.m. to 03.00 p.m. users will be able to purchase Internet access up to 500 megabytes with 1 megabyte download and 256 kilobyte upload speeds.Celalettin Dinçer, Head of Operation in Türk Telekom and Erem Demircan, Head of Marketing and Communication in Türk Telekom attended to the press conference held for the introduction of Internet to Every Home package.
“We will introduce Internet to everyone”
Erem Demircan, Head of Marketing and Communication in Türk Telekom stressed out a new period had started for Internet and said that the “Internet to Every Home” package would make Internet access easier and provide Internet to everyone. Stating that Turkey was in first place in Europe and second place in the world in terms if the increase of ADSL penetration between 2005 and 2009, Demircan continued:
“As of the end of March in 2010, number of ADSL users in Turkey has reached to 6,5 millions. However we don’t think that’s enough. Our target is to introduce Internet to every household. We will achieve that target with our new pricing model we offer through the “Internet to Every Home” package. We have also leaded the way to simple and easy access to Internet with this service we offer all Internet service providers. We will sustain our studies to popularize Internet usage in Turkey maintaining the same determinedness in next periods, and increase facilities to access information in society.”
“8 Mbps users have reached to 2,8 millions”
Celalettin Dinçer, Head of operation in Türk Telekom drew attention to the continuously improving speed and service quality of ADSL service with the investments they had made up to day and that had an important role in the increase in Internet access in the country. Outlining that they continuously make investments in both connection speeds and in service quality and diversity, Dinçer said “While minimum connection speed was 256 kbps in 2005, in 2010 it has reached to 1 Mbps with a 4 times increase as the result of our investments. Maximum connection speed has also increased 16 times and reached to 32 Mbps from 2 Mbps between those years.” Stating that they carried out promotions for easy and advantageous access to Internet in the previous period, Dinçer indicated that users of 8 Mbps ADSL packages offered in 2009 had reached to 2,8 millions.
To benefit from the “Internet to Every Home” package of Türk Telekom, It is enough to receive fixed home phone service from Türk Telekom. In the Internet to Every Home package, customers that will provide Internet connection for the first time will pay activation fee for once only. Connection fee will be able to be paid by 12 installments if requested.
