E-Learning Project for all Türk Telekom Employees

Turkey’s telecommunication giant Türk Telekom initiated a giant Project towards the training of all Türk Telekom employees. Due to Türk Telekom Academy – e Learning Project, which was vitalized in December 2007 and designed for employees of Türk Telekom and its associated companies, training activities were begun to be continued in relation with Human Resources process and systems. Türk Telekom Academy e- learning Portal is planned to be converted into a larger scaled structure where Türk Telekom subsidiaries TTnet, Avea, Argela Innova, Sebit companies and Türk Telekom and TTNet dealer channels shall also be able to utilize.
Türk Telekom Academy Training Portal shall provide significant contribution to Human Resources conversion. At the first stage, 15.000 Türk Telekom employees and 15.000 employees from associated companies and dealers can reach training planning, training calendars and e- learning trainings through Türk Telekom Academy portal. Besides, thanks to the firm technical infrastructure of the platform where training is provided; number of the users who are utilizing this training process, trainings received, situation of their attendance and situation of their success level shall be measured and reported.
After Türk Telekom Akademi Training Portal is opened, in the first week over 40.000 visitors accessed into the system: Within first seven months total training hours reached 73.834 and portal’s hit number exceeded 380.000.Completion rate of the training in Türk Telekom reached 35% within first seven months whereas this rate is around % 10 averagely in the world.
President of Türk Telekom Human Resources Gökhan Bozkurt indicated; they believe that Türk Telekom Academy Training Portal shall provide significant added value to the conversion of Türk Telekom into human resources and added; with this Project performance measurement system based on training, knowledge and competency shall be started. Bozkurt stated; “Türk Telekom vitalized a project by Türk Telekom Academy vision which shall not only serve for teams in their own structure but also serve for the telecommunication system in general.
Türk Telekom Human Resources Department Training and Development director Dr. Ayhan Artar expressed that due to the operation of this portal many people were provided to utilize from training service and this is a very significant development. Artar added,” Completion rate of the training is highly over the world average rate. It is a pleasure for us to see that the system has been accepted in such a short time within the company and it is used so intensively”
