Trademark Registration Attack From Türk Telekom, the Most Valuable Brand in Turkey

Türk Telekom having 21 registered trademarks as per the end of 2008 increased this number to 150 today. Türk Telekom having 119 registered trademarks as of the year 2009 has been granted the Patent League Award by Turkish Patent Institute. The company has about 70 more applications at Turkish Patent Institute today waiting for trademark registrations.

Türk Telekom which is Turkey’s leading company in telecommunications and convergence technologies has taken a big leap with regard to trademark registrations in 2009 and became the 3rd in the list of top companies in Turkey realizing the highest numbers of trademark registrations.

Announcing the year 2008 as the products year and concentrating its activities in this respect while also introducing many innovative products and services within the context of its convergence strategy one after the other in 2009, Türk Telekom has increased its number of trademarks which was 21 at the end of 2008 to 150 as of today. Holding also the “Turkey’s Most Valuable Brand” Award granted by the Capital magazine as a result of its research study Brandfinance published in 2009, Türk Telekomünikasyon A.Ş. was given another award by Turkish Patent Institute in 2009 by realizing the registration of 119 trademarks within that year.

Türk Telekom has been the 3rd company of the year 2009 in the category of “top companies realizing highest number of awards in Turkey” organized for the third time by Turkish Patent Institute within the context of Turkish Patent Awards for purposes of creating awareness on industrial property rights, motivating the R&D studies realized in Turkey and providing support to the economy.

Celalettin Dinçer, Türk Telekom’s VP Responsible for Operations, has taken Türk Telekom’s award in the category of trademark registrations from the hands of the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Showing the success of increasing its number of trademarks which was 21 in the beginning of 2009 to 150 as of today, Türk Telekom has 70 more applications waiting at Turkish Patent Institute for registration.

Türk Telekom that has realized a consolidated investment figure of about 2.5 billion TL to the technology and infrastructure related issues is targeting to repeat its success also in 2010 with its new products and brands.
