Türk Telekom, together with its group companies, Avea and TTNET, supports the sports in Turkey with the object of contributing to the development of the universal values of sports in Turkey and to the training of globally competitive sportsmen/sportswomen. While Avea is the sponsor of four major football teams, Besiktas, Fenerbahce, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor, TTNET conducts the main sponsorship of the national football teams.
Targeting to reconstructure the sponsorships as from the 2009-2010 season together with its group companies, Türk Telekom starts applying a new strategy. According to this strategy, the object is to support four major football teams as Türk Telekom and Avea. The first step of this strategy has been taken through the Galatasaray sponsorship. Türk Telekom will become the sponsor of Galatasaray as from the 2009-2010 season, when the main sponsorship agreement of Avea ends. With another agreement, Türk Telekom has become the royalty of the stadium of Galatasaray, whose construction is in progress, for 10 years. Consequent to the agreement, the name of the new stadium of Galatasaray Sports Club shall be mentioned as “Türk Telekom Stadium”. The other sponsorships for the four major teams are targeted also to be realized by Türk Telekom and the group companies.
Türk Telekom’s Support for the National Teams
Türk Telekom acts by being aware that sports are one of the most important activities in the physical and mental development, and socialization of the Turkish youth. Therefore, together with all the group companies, Türk Telekom stands next to the sports and the sportsmen/sportswomen in Turkey by supporting individual sports clubs by every means right along with the national teams.
Türk Telekom group companies, especially Avea and TTNET, supporting many national and international sports activities in Turkey, have undertaken the sponsorships of the national football teams, Men’s National Volleyball Team, Men’s and Women’s National Volleyball Youth Teams, and Men’s and Women’s National Volleyball Stars Teams. Türk Telekom is also the golden sponsor of the Turkish Olympics Team.
