Türk Telekom becomes the sponsor of the Turkish Olympics Team

Creating important social responsibility projects in education and sports areas, Turkey’s telecommunication leader Türk Telekom continues its operations towards increasing the conscience and love of sport in the country. Possessing one of the leading basketball teams in Turkey, the company also supports many national and international sports activities. With this purpose, Türk Telekom has initiated another very important project by becoming the golden sponsor of Turkish Olympics Team.
Consisting of the 58 sportsmen and sportswomen of Turkey, who had achieved great successes, Turkish Olympics Team has been formed in order to introduce the sports and the sportsmen/women and to contribute to the personal improvement of the youth, besides increasing the success in the Olympics. The first introductory meeting has been arranged in Cevahir Hotel in 24 May 2008, with the participations of the Minister of Sports Mr. Murat Basesgioglu, General Manager of Youth and Sports Mr. Mehmet Atalay and Türk Telekom’s President of Marketing and Communication Erem Demircan.
Türk Telekom’s President of Marketing and Communication, Erem Demircan, who spoke at the meeting, stated that sports was one of the most important activities for the physical and spiritual improvement and the socialization of the Turkish youth, and continued, “As Türk Telekom, we provide sports opportunities for the teenagers in different branches with the sports clubs and our sports investments including establishment building and repairment all around Turkey. Our objective is to serve for training sportsmen and sportswomen in the world standards to successfully represent our country and to be with the teams and institutions that will present Turkey in the international platform. With this purpose, we are very pleased and proud of supporting our national Olympics teams in all branches and to sponsor them. We believe by heart that our national teams will be successful in the next Olympics.”
